Solar Kauai

About Solar Kauai

Solar Kauai is the original solar company on Kauai, founded in 1979 and serving the island for over four decades. Based in Lihue, Hawaii, the company offers three core services: photovoltaic (PV) solar power systems, solar water heating systems, and roofing. With more than 8,000 solar systems installed across the island, Solar Kauai has built a long track record serving residential customers throughout Kauai, including areas such as Koloa, Kekaha, Anahola, and Poipu. The company handles permitting and utility interactions on behalf of customers and works with available tax credits to reduce the net cost of installations. Customer reviews highlight competitive pricing, accurate system sizing, and responsive project management. Solar Kauai also services and repairs existing solar water heating systems, not just new installations. The company positions its work in the context of reducing dependence on KIUC, Kauai's electric utility, and helping homeowners hedge against future electricity price increases. For residential customers weighing the financial case, the company notes that a typical PV system costs approximately $8,000 after tax credits and can offset a $300 monthly electric bill within a few years. Solar Kauai maintains a presence on Facebook and Instagram under the handle @solarkauai.
