Solar Technology Alabama
About Solar Technology Alabama
Solar Technology Alabama is based in Eva, Alabama and was founded in 2008 by Ron Holland, a Mississippi State University electrical engineering graduate who spent 20 years as a power distribution engineer with Southern Company. The business specializes exclusively in off-grid and grid-independent solar systems — it does not accept residential grid-tie projects. Every system Solar Technology Alabama installs includes a grid-independent inverter and battery storage, reflecting the company's core philosophy that true energy security requires both a renewable source and storage capacity. Services include off-grid system installation, battery backup design, solar water heating, solar water pumping, and broader renewable energy solutions. The company also offers paid consultation for homeowners planning new builds or exploring energy independence. Holland built the Alabama Solar Technology Center and has personally lived off the grid since 2011. Solar Technology Alabama serves customers across a wide footprint in northern and central Alabama, including Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Muscle Shoals, Anniston, Gadsden, Scottsboro, Guntersville, Hazel Green, Calera, and Hazel Green, as well as Fayetteville, Tennessee. The team cites over 25 years of combined experience with solar and renewable energy applications for homes.
