About Solar Action LLC
Solar Action LLC works with non-profit organizations, schools, universities, and local governments to finance and deploy large-scale solar installations using Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Because these entities are typically ineligible for solar tax incentives on their own, Solar Action structures PPAs that allow an investor to install, own, and maintain a solar system on the organization's property for a term of 15 to 25 years. The host organization pays for the electricity the system generates, generally at a rate below what the local utility charges. Solar Action adjusts this rate each year to keep it consistently lower than utility pricing. The company also offers consulting services to help organizations determine whether a PPA is the right financing structure for their situation. Physical construction is carried out by NABCEP certified solar installers. To be eligible, organizations generally need at least 10,000 square feet of shade-free area suitable for a solar array and must commit to purchasing all electricity generated for the length of the agreement.
