Sisu Solar

About Sisu Solar

Sisu Solar is a Saint Paul, Minnesota-based solar installation company owned and operated by Rickey Sipila, a University of Minnesota alumnus and licensed building contractor with years of professional solar installation experience. The company offers four core services: new solar construction for homeowners looking to add a solar system to their property; reroofing support for homeowners who need their existing solar panels removed and reinstalled around a shingle replacement; subcontracting services for companies looking to outsource the mechanical work of solar installation; and repair services for existing solar system owners dealing with equipment failures. Sisu Solar guides residential customers through the complete installation process from initial contract to final commissioning. The company holds NABCEP certification (Cert #: PV-061621-031952), the recognized gold standard for photovoltaic installation credentials, and is a certified Enphase installer qualified to work with the IQ8 line of microinverters. Sisu Solar is also a member of the Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association. The company's name draws on the Finnish concept of sisu — meaning resilience, grit, and inner strength — reflecting an ethos of steady, principled work on behalf of Minnesota homeowners investing in solar energy.
