About NEC Solar

NEC Solar, operating as part of Newport Electric Construction, is a licensed electrical, HVAC, and solar contractor serving Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut from its base in Bristol, Rhode Island. The company installs solar panels and battery storage systems for residential customers, and also handles residential and commercial electrical work, mini-split HVAC systems, and EV charging station installations. For Rhode Island homeowners, NEC Solar assists with navigating available solar incentives, including the REF Solar Grant (up to $14,500), a Storage Adder bonus ($5,000), and the ConnectedSolutions program ($300–$1,000 per year) — a combined potential value of up to $19,500. The company handles all grant and rebate paperwork on the customer's behalf and offers a free assessment with no commitment required. On the electrical side, NEC's construction department works on new residential and commercial builds, tenant improvements, electrical renovations, service upgrades, energy-efficient lighting and controls, and fire alarm system installations. Their service department focuses on residential electrical repairs and maintenance, with fully stocked vans aimed at completing most jobs same-day. NEC can be reached directly at (401) 293-0527.
