Indie Solar VANOPY

About Indie Solar VANOPY

Indie Solar VANOPY is an Austin, Texas-based off-grid and portable solar company operating since 2010. The company specializes in design and installation for non-traditional applications including RVs, marine vessels, tiny homes, food trucks, and disaster relief projects. Beyond installations, Indie Solar offers consulting services for commercial solar farm developers and DIY solar enthusiasts, providing a la carte design and implementation support through every step of the process. The company also manufactures made-to-order flexible solar panel shade canopies and awnings — the VANOPY product line — available in custom and bulk quantities. These panels are NFPA compliant, UL Listed, and operate at 12–24 volts, with flexible solar cells produced at a California factory. Indie Solar holds multiple City of Austin certifications: Women-Owned Business and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (WMDBE), and Austin Green Business Leader (AGBL) at the Platinum level. The team is composed of independent solar PV designers, builders, and electricians. Past projects include work on Willie Nelson's solar stage trailer, installations for the City of Austin, and solar panel supply for Puerto Rico. The company's reach extends internationally, having delivered off-grid solar solutions around the world since its founding.
