Alascorp

About Alascorp

Alascorp is a licensed, bonded, and insured general contractor based in Fairbanks, Alaska, operating in the state since 1999. The company sells and installs solar hot water equipment for both residential and commercial customers. Their core offering is solar thermal systems that supplement existing oil-fired, gas, or electric water heaters, reducing reliance on conventional fuel sources. Alascorp also installs combination systems that handle both water heating and space heating, automatically diverting excess solar heat from water use into home heating — an approach suited to Alaska's climate and energy costs. Systems use solar collectors and a circulation loop: a controller activates pumps when sufficient heat is available, circulating solar fluid through a heat exchanger to transfer heat to a storage tank, with a backup heating system engaging during low-sun periods. The company works with SolarLogic design software, which supports integration of solar thermal systems with wood heat, boilers, geothermal, and other heat sources. In addition to installation, Alascorp offers educational classes on solar heating. They are members of the Interior Alaska Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. A customer testimonial on their site specifically names Fairbanks, reflecting a locally rooted service focus. The website dates to 2012, and prospective customers should contact the company directly to confirm current offerings and availability.
